Let's Watch Old Hornets Games Together: "Hornets Rewind" (SportCLT Exclusive)
Hosted by Mr. Hornets History himself, Owen Watterson.
There is a lot of nostalgia for the 80s and 90s-era Charlotte Hornets: the old Coliseum, the attendance records, the pinstripes donned by Larry Johnson, Muggsy Bogues, and many more.
Almost all of the games from that era are lost to time.
Today, though, SportCLT is excited to announce that we’re bringing you a new way to watch full games from that era in the form of watch-a-longs.
Typically unavailable to the general public, our very own Owen Watterson is bringing his archive of full-length Hornets games to SportCLT, hosting a ‘Watch-a-Long’ a few times every month.
The first Watch-A-Long? It’ll be the Charlotte Hornets taking on the Chicago Bulls in April 1993 at the old Charlotte Coliseum. Owen will be providing commentary throughout the game. Some other SportCLT members might be jumping in throughout the stream.
The live stream will take place on Thursday, May 21st at 8 PM ET. Please read below for the full details on how to watch.
That game featured Jordan and Pippen’s Bulls against a Hornets team with a starting lineup of Muggsy Bogues, Kendall Gill, Johnny Newman, Larry Johnson, and Alonzo Mourning.
